Hi. My name is Samantha Preis.
I'm an independent #singersongwriter, #recording and #performingartist and, YEAH, being an #indie artist is super hard but also very rewarding. Some of you may already know my #music or have seen me #perform, and, if you know me, you know that in order to pursue my music, I actually rely on several other streams of #income. Ideally, I would love to be focusing ALL my attention to #writing music, #recording, and #performing - but in order to make this happen, I need to be able to rely on consistent #income from music #projects. SO - I'm creating a #MusicLabel - and YOU are going to be on it ;) That's right - you!!! The #label is made up of #supporters, #friends, and #fans that will all have a voice in my #creative process. In addition, I've decided that along with my #artistic #contribution to society, I feel it is important for me to also give back in the form of #charitable #donations - therefore, I've decided that 10% of all proceeds raised by patrons will be #donated to a NEW #charity for EACH project. #Patrons will all have a voice in discussing the #causes they feel most strongly about and, together, we can decide where we would like to #contribute.
About the Label - House of Sam Records via Patreon
My first #album "Good News" was funded through a site called #Indiegogo, a great #crowdfunding platform for one-time projects. Going forward, I decided I didn't want to exhaust my #fanbase again and again each time I started a new project by continuously asking for more. #Patreon is an amazing platform that connects creators to patrons by allowing patrons to #subscribe to a creator to help fund ONGOING projects.
Background:
As an indie artist, the #hustle never ends and I am consistently finding myself seeking new and #creative ways to deliver #newmusic. It's been almost 5 years since the #release of my first #album and lack of #funds has made it difficult to release #content at the speed at which I'd like. As an #indieartist, I don't go through #labels or #promoters to release new #material or #promote my work so the pressure is on me to do everything. I want to make my #listeners happy while satisfying my own #artistic and #charitable #goals on an ongoing basis. What I need is a #SALARY and a #BUDGET. I currently have several projects in the works. Here's just a glimpse of the expenses I have to consider on a monthly basis:

Summary
Basically, without my supporters, I wouldn't be able to do the things I do like #recording, #touring, and #promoting. I've had so many amazing musical #experiences and look forward to new and exciting #opportunities in the future that I would love you to be a part of.
